They tend to use ink based printers instead of laser that most people go for.

I feel the scanners at Print shops may also be higher quality which help with scanning and printing larger size photos and pictures which are not made digitally.

Very true and even larger documents like blue prints and posters.

I imagine it would be difficult for most people to buy a larger size scanners which is big enough to scan a large poster.

They are rather awkward in size, most would have issues finding a place for it in their homes.

I imagine some cheaper computers may not be fast enough to scan a large high resolution poster from a larger size scanner.

They can, but with their low processor it could take a long while.
